NWS. PEACE PROGRAM, a non-profit CSIET approved program is seeking caring families in the area to host a high school students from Ecuador, Brazil, Austria Colombia, Korea and various other countries for the 2010 school year. The students range from 15-18 years of age and will be arriving in January to spend the upcoming 5-10 months with a caring family while attending your local high school. There is NO such thing as a typical host family! Whether you are a single parent, retired, have small children, teens, or no children, you can have a great experience hosting an international teen! All these Students require is a bed, meals and a caring family to share their 5-10 month stay in our country! Ottumwa Community Schools
Ottumwa- The Ottumwa Community School District will release classes for all students at 2pm on Tuesday, December 22 for the Christmas holiday. No classes will be held through January3. The districts elementary youth care program will extend their hours that day form 2pm until 6pm and will be open all day Wednesday. They are closed during the Christmas holiday break.
Ottumwa- The Ottumwa high School fruit and cheese fundraiser will be delivered on Friday, December 11. The delivery was postponed due to the weather and school cancellations. Orders will be ready for pickup after 10 am. OHS asks that persons with orders make arrangements for pickup.
